A desert theme fit for a girl!
When it finally came time to plan for Baby No. 2, I knew I wanted to create a room that would complement my son’s Woodland Adventure room down the hall. I quickly decided on a Southwestern desert theme, regardless of whether we’d be having a boy or a girl. Upon learning we were expecting a daughter, I was thrilled to put a girly spin on the theme!
My brother said, “What a terrible theme for a girl!” Even my mom, who is my design partner, was skeptical. But in the end, I think everyone agrees it turned out to be the perfect space.
I’m all about the accent walls. Most of our rooms have one. For this nursery, I settled on a board and batten wall with wallpaper, and I’m obsessed with how it turned out!
All of the furniture in the room was previously my son's. I switched out the dresser knobs to make it more feminine and added the monogram letter to tie in the gray.
This bookcase was in my childhood bedroom growing up! My mom gave it a nice, new paint job, and it fit perfectly on this wall in the nursery. I love that I was able to pass it down, and I hope to see it completely filled with books in the future!
