Lots of progress to report this week! First and foremost, we FINALLY have real lighting! Buh-bye makeshift fluorescent light! My original plan was to install a statement light fixture in the middle of the room, but with the low, angled ceiling, I settled on good 'ole recessed lights.
Before & After Because the ceiling is angled, the lights are positioned facing one wall, so I opted for lights that can tilt in other directions for optimal lighting.
We had to cut quite a few holes in the wall and ceiling to install the lights and electrical outlets, so we'll be working to get those patched and sanded this weekend.
Next up, shiplap! My husband worked to get all the boards cut and onto the walls. It instantaneously changed the look of the room!
And lastly, I chose the paint color! I settled on Sherwin Williams Silver Strand which I think is the perfect combination of a serene green and gray.
THIS WEEKEND'S TO-DOS:
Prep shiplap for paint (wood filler, sand, caulk)
Paint shiplap and ceilings
Install baseboards
